Senior Project.
This was a passion project for me. I was very sick for years, before being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. This autoimmune disease has had a big impact on my life like many others have experienced. I wanted others to know about how this disease impacts those who are diagnosed with it, their loved ones, and to spread awareness.

I struggled a bit choosing a logo. I thought of various and ideas and drew different iterations.
I decided to play with the idea of gluten from the wheat, which is a grain. Since those of us with Celiac Disease can't have gluten, we can't have certain grains, hence "Going Against the Grain."
The colors were chosen to match the color of wheat.

The biggest part of my senior project was the website. I wanted it to include facts, stories, and blog, merch and more so that people could learn about Celiac Disease, see the impact it has on people, and spread awareness.
I designed the website using Wix. It took several weeks to fine tune everything and make sure it worked on different screen sizes.
During the entirety of the senior show, the website was live.

Another big portion of the project was the posters I displayed on the wall behind my table.
I wanted to list different facts about Celiac Disease using things that contain gluten.
I tried a bunch of items set up in various ways and I took over 50 photos with different lighting to get them just right.
I edited the photo in Photoshop, before having them printed and mounting them to foam boards.

I decided to design and have button pins made so that people had something to take for themselves or to share with others.
The pins also helped with my goal of spreading awareness, since people would see them and possibly ask about them.
